Details of Ann Ngirita, Woman Who Made Millions in NYS Scandal

Ann Wambere Wanjiku Ngirita, the woman who made Ksh60 Million from National Youth Service (NYS) for supplying nothing, is claimed to be from a humble family from Naivasha.

According to a family friend who spoke to Nation, the Ngirita's family's rise to financial stardom has shocked even their neighbours.

One Albert Munga (not his real name), revealed that he has known the family for many years as they resided in the humble county council estate and at times, according to Munga, the family would struggle to put food on the table.

However, their lifestyle changed suddenly to one of affluence after the family members started getting lucrative contracts, especially from the NYS.

He exclaimed: "Some of them started living large, driving big cars and moved to the leafy Lake View Estate in outskirts of Naivasha town. For the last two years, it has been a complete metamorphosis for the family members."

Munga further divulged that all these while he knew that the family was engaged in genuine dealings with the government entity but was surprised after the recent revelation emerged.

"I used to believe theirs was a legitimate business since they used to deal in cereals," he noted.

Additionally, he disclosed that the family has acquired in the recent past acquired several prime properties in Naivasha town, the latest one being a church plot sold at Ksh45 Million.

"The family also bought a top of range vehicle at Ksh16 Million and another prime plot in town," Munga stated.

According to the family friend, the sudden purchasing spree of the family raised minimal suspicion given that their dealings with NYS were in the public domain.

Ann, the mother of one, who allegedly pocketed Ksh60 million from the service, is stated to have been travelling in and out of the country mostly visiting her siblings in Germany.

It was also divulged that Ann used to operate a shop in Naivasha town selling imported merchandise from Germany.

According to Peter Mungai, a businessman who has interacted with her asserted: "I know her as a businesswoman who operates a series of businesses and has her own companies."
