Controversial political scientist Mutahi Ngunyi has faced backlash from social media users after proposing a new theory to explain the fresh National Youth Service (NYS) scandal.
According to Mutahi's theory, it is likely that the corruption cases that are being exposed have been engineered as part of a plan to impeach Uhuru.
Through his Fort Hall School of Government forum "The 5th Estate", the scholar questioned why the country was witnessing the return of corruption discourse after the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and NASA leader Raila Odinga.

Kenyans across social media, however, bashed his latest theory accusing him or trying to shift the blame in the wake of the scandal that saw close Ksh10 billion lost in fishy deals.
