Deputy President William Ruto on Saturday responded to President Uhuru Kenyatta's remarks that he keeps loitering around the country

Speaking during the burial of National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi's mother, Ruto noted that he is reporting his findings to the Head of State following his (Uhuru) instruction to have the DP inform him of the things affecting Kenyans.

Ruto told the President that the road which he (Uhuru)had asked him to monitor and the remaining ones were still being worked on.

"The road which you sent us to work on along Mathathari - Siakago-Ugweri, has been completed Mr President.

"Electricity connection has also been done in the area extensively as more than 60,000 homes have been electrified," Ruto added.

He further stated that the government had already dispersed millions to help in the completion of a Cancer Center being developed in the Embu County.

Ruto also told the President that while he was moving around the counties during weekends, he discovered that Mbeere North did not have a vocational training institution and assured the residents that the Jubilee administration will build one in the constituency.

"A Technical training college will be built in Mbeere North for the benefit and development of the youth in this area," Ruto exclaimed.

The Deputy President also called on Kenyans to join the government in building a united country and that they should not allow corruption to undermine the country's unity, development, and growth.

While addressing the mourners, President Kenyatta promised to have a laboratory built at Kanyambora Secondary School and he directed DP Ruto to monitor and ensure that it is built and later report back to him upon completion.

Speaker Muturi's mother, Mama Virginia passed on last week at the age of 91 years.

Leaders who attended the event included Cabinet Secretaries, Speaker of the Senate Kenneth Lusaka, Majority Leader of the Senate Kipchumba Murkomen and his National Assembly counterpart Aden Duale, and a number of Members of Parliament.
