Youth Celebrate Appointment of Wambui Nyutu by President Uhuru Kenyatta

There was celebration across social media after Warembo Na UhuRuto founder Wambui Nyutu was appointed by President Uhuru Kenyatta as a director in the National Irrigation Board (NIB).

Wambui, a lawyer by profession had played a crucial role in the 2017 presidential campaigns where she served as a National youth campaign leader for the Jubilee party.

Her team was responsible for lobbying the youth across the country to vote for UhuRuto in the hotly contested elections.

There had been a huge outcry across social media from the Jubilee affiliated youth under the tag #IStandWithWambuiNyutu after she missed in the Senate nominees list which she was set to receive for the role she played in securing Jubilee's victory.

But following the turning of the tide, the youth took to social media commending Wambui on her new appointment.

The former University Of Nairobi student leader is set to inject young blood in the NIB, a critical pillar in Uhuru's Big Four Agenda on food security, affordable housing, manufacturing and universal healthcare.

Congratulating her, fellow youth leader Kelvin Shaban noted that "Uhuru’s Big 4 Agenda including food security are now in the able hands of our youths."

"Thank you DP Ruto for listening and implementing the voice of the people. Sasa tutangatanga na wewe hadi State House 2022 (We will now support you all the way come 2022)."

On his part, the Secretary Digital Innovations and Diaspora Communications Dennis Itumbi lauded her "Congrats Wambui Nyutu, shine at the National Irrigation Board (NIB)."

Wambui missed the Senate post after her name was allegedly switched with that of an ODM party member during the presentation of nominees to IEBC.

Wambui's new position will see her serve alongside the likes of Grace Saitoti, the wife of the late Interior Minister George Saitoti.
