Miguna Condemns President Uhuru & Paul Kagame Over Discussing African Issues in Canada

National Resistance Movement (NRM-K) leader Miguna Miguna has attacked President Uhuru Kenyatta alongside his Rwanda counterpart Paul Kagame for meeting in Canada to discuss issues affecting Africans.

According to the Canada-based barrister, it is very disrespectful of the African leaders to meet in European countries to discuss African issues.

Miguna made those sentiments after President Kenyatta declared that he met his fellow African leaders who are attending the G7 Summit in Québec, Canada.

"Held talks with Presidents @Macky_Sall of Senegal and @PaulKagame of Rwanda ahead of the @g7 "outreach segment" in Québec, Canada," Uhuru posted on his Twitter page.

In response, Miguna exclaimed: "This is primitive. So-called African leaders meet, shake hands and hug in European and North American cities after invitations by Western governments looking for African minerals and oil.

"You spent Kshs. 200 million to Quebec City to meet Paul Kagame and Macky Sall instead of meeting in Nairobi, Kigali or Dakar? Stop stealing our resources. Stop oppressing our people. Meet and discuss African issues in Africa," the outspoken leader affirmed.

Speaking during an interview with KTN News, Government Spokesman Manoa Esipisu stated that the President's bilateral talks with the two African leaders were fruitful.

He revealed that President Kenyatta and his Dakar counterpart agreed on opening a Kenyan embassy in Senegal "soon."

The Head of State is in Canada for the G7 summit, which is a meeting of the seven most industrialized nations in the world.

In his talks with the various world leaders, President Kenyatta's discussions will focus on oceans security, the African continent’s economic growth and how to prevent, manage and recover from the debilitating disasters caused by climate change.
