Lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi on Monday advised that all civil servants due for a lifestyle audit should have lawyers with them during the vetting process.
He made the comment after StateHouse official Dennis Itumbi stated that he was ready to offer himself for the exercise.
"I am a Public Servant No. 981,547. I will present myself for lifestyle audit when my time comes. My salary, other sources of income and property owned will be declared for audit," Itumbi proclaimed.

To which Ahmednasir responded: "Let us avoid unnecessary drama...Dennis provides the correct approach to this vetting issue.
"I will add one point only. When Dennis or any civil servant goes for vetting let them have the right to have their lawyers with them...very important!" he stated.
Earlier last week, the flamboyant lawyer supported President Uhuru Kenyatta's call for an audit adding that prominent Kenyans in the private sector should do the same.
"Lifestyle audit should start today in a structured and transparent way. Zero harm even in prominent Kenyans in the private sector; lawyers, doctors, bloggers, accountants subjecting themselves to a lifestyle audit to explain the source of their wealth.
President Kenyatta on Thursday announced that all government officials, including Deputy President William Ruto and himself, would undergo lifestyle audits as part of the renewed fight against corruption.
Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen who has been the most vocal politician over the matter stated that he was afraid of the proposed lifestyle audit because it would expose the secret lives of politicians.
In a seemingly sarcastic post aimed at leaders who often portray themselves as super rich, Murkomen noted that they may lose the respect they command since some are poor.
"I have only one problem with lifestyle audit. It will expose some of us who are enjoying the perceived status of rich men. We will “lose” our helicopters, high rise buildings, NYS tenders etc. There is nothing a Kenyan voter hates than a poor politician. Just let us fake it till we get it," he wrote on his official Twitter page.
