DP William Ruto Speaks on The Emergence of Factions in Jubilee

Deputy President William Ruto has refuted claims that the ruling Jubilee party was breaking into two opposing factions; the party leader Uhuru Kenyatta's camp and his own divide.

This is after reports emerged that there were secret meetings among sections of Central Kenya Jubilee Party elected leaders scheming to undermine DP Ruto’s ambition to succeed President Kenyatta in 2022.

DP Ruto on Friday told off those bidding to oppose his presidential ambition when he visited Githunguri, Kiambu county accompanied by a host of the region’s leaders and his close associates from the Rift valley region.

He noted that he was privy to the political ongoings in the party warning that some politicians were keen on dividing the country through “peddling lies” with the help of the media.

Senator Kipchumba Murkomen, Majority leader Aden Duale and Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko have spoken openly of leaders opposed to Ruto’s plan to take over from Uhuru.

“We do not have groupings or sections in Jubilee government. We are one, with one leader, one manifesto and one agenda. Those that are moving from one media house to another with propaganda will be defeated. We have no space for divisions and propaganda but are focused in service delivery,” remarked DP Ruto.

Ruto asserted that the party was on track and keenly focused on where they intend to be in the future since they had dropped the tendency of forming new and opposing outfits to their opposing sides.

“Let them continue peddling propaganda but we will meet them on the judgement day. The electorate will decide between performers and propagandists." he indicated.

Kiambu Senator Kimani Wamatangi and Deputy Governor James Nyoro were at the fundraiser where the DP made the remarks. Also in attendance was MP Kimani Ichng’wa, Women Representatives Wambui Ngirichi(Kirinyaga) Faith Mukami(Nyeri) and Faith Gitau (Nyandarua), Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria and others.
