DP William Ruto Shows Off His Football Moves

Deputy President William Ruto on Wednesday showed off his football moves to soccer players Victor Wanyama and his brother McDonald Mariga who had visited him at his Karen office.

A picture posted on his official Twitter account showed the Deputy President kicking the ball as Wanyama and Mariga watched on.

In a series of tweets on his official account, the DP lauded the professional football players for their contribution to the country's youth.

"We laud footballer Victor Wanyama for promoting grassroots football in Kenya and being an inspiration, role model to our youth, who aspire to join the professional ranks," the DP wrote.

"He is using his international profile to market our country, give back to society and attest that with hard work, discipline and dedication one can reach the pinnacle," he added.

The deputy president had met with the organizers of the Wanyama Royal Charity Cup where he was also presented with signed jerseys from Wanyama and Mariga.

The Wanyama Royal Charity Cup is set to happen on Saturday and Sunday at St Mary's grounds with an aim of promoting football in Kenya.

The Tottenham Hotspurs star was appointed to be the ambassador of Jersey 2 Africa 4 Football Foundation in 2017.

Jersey 2 Africa 4 Football Foundation is a non-profit organization whose objective in appointing the Tottenham midfielder is to connect with young players in Kenya by supporting their football growth.

Speaking on his appointment Wanyama tweeted: “So excited to become an ambassador for @j2a4football they are doing great things in Kenya. Looking forward to being part of the team.”
