3 State Officials Allegedly Plotting Against DP William Ruto Named

Three powerful state officials have been named in connection with a plot to sabotage Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 presidential ambition.

According to a report by KTN News, State House Chief of Staff Nzioka Waita, Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho and presidential political advisory team member Nancy Gitau have been accused of masterminding the scheme.

The three were allegedly named in a closed-door meeting held by politicians from the Rift Valley region, among them Senator Kipchumba Murkomen and Cherangany legislator Joshua Kutuny.

Speaking shortly after the crisis meeting that took place on Wednesday night, Senator Murkomen and MP Kutuny announced that they had made peace with each other and were no longer at war.

"If you look at us we are smiling and that is a clear sign that we have agreed and we are on the same side. What you heard was just a passing breathe," MP Kutuny told the press after the meeting at Weston Hotel.

Senator Murkomen further defended himself against reports that had allegedly misquoted him saying that there were cracks within the ruling party.

"At no point did I say that there are cracks in Jubilee. If you go and listen to the interview that we all listened to then you will hear that I said there are a few elements who wanted to put problems in Jubilee and not even people who are within Jubilee and neither did I say MPs," Murkomen defended himself.

According to insiders, MP Kutuny was tasked with approaching Jubilee party vice-chairman David Murathe and other close confidantes of the president to convince President Uhuru Kenyatta to urgently convene a Parliamentary Group Meeting for party members to iron out their differences.

Senator Murkomen, who was accused of being a snob to MPs, was mandated to mend his relationship with party legislators.

DP Ruto is said to have sheltered Senator Murkomen from the wrath of MPs who had intended to move a motion to demote him from his position as Senate Majority Leader.

"He was at the Deputy President’s home on Wednesday morning. He was there at the same time footballer Victor Wanyama was there to see the DP," an MP from Kericho county revealed stating that the meeting rescued Mr Murkomen.
