President Uhuru, DP Ruto Hold Crisis Metting

President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto are reported to have a held a crisis meeting on Friday to address tensions within the Jubilee party.

According to the Standard, the five-hour crisis meeting sought to foster unity in the party while pushing for the president's legacy projects 'The Big Four.'

The meeting is alleged to have taken place at State House with only a handful of trusted handlers from the duo's office.

The Nation disclosed that the DP's schedule was amended to cater for the meeting.

He was to preside over a fundraiser at Pumwani Primary school in the morning which he arrived at 5 PM.

Both publications added that the during the meeting, the two resolved to call a Parliamentary Group meeting on Tuesday to address the issues.

The meeting came at a time when the MPs in the ruling party had openly declared war on each other.

Days, after Senate Majority leader Kipchumba Murkomen went on live television and stated that the lifestyle audit called for by the president, was aimed at DP Ruto, a section of MPs moved to eject the Elgeyo Marakwet legislature from the seat.

The Rift Valley MPs held a night meeting where they ironed out their differences and presented a united front.

At the same time, Murang'a Senator Irungu Kang'ata accused senior State House operatives to be developing jitters against the DP.
