The World Cup season is upon us and Kenyan football fanatics are glued to their TV sets cheering their best teams on.
On Monday, Geo Poll released statistics of the most watched group matches in Kenya which ended on June 28.
Through our audience measurement service, the game between Argentina and Croatia which the latter won 3-0 had the highest share of all TV viewers.
According to statistics, a whopping 48 percent of Kenyans tuned in to watch the match which was played last Thursday, June 21.

The second most-watched match in the group stages was the Egypt vs Uruguay game which garnered 43 percent of the total viewership.
The statistics released by Geo Poll also mention that the game between Morocco and Portugal as the least watched match in Kenya with only 23 percent viewership.
Egypt is out of the World Cup after losing all three of their group matches followed by Saudi Arabia.
The final results also saw Iran joining Morocco on the plane home.
The last three weeks have had the most shocking moments for football fans world over. Germany, the defending World Cup champions were eliminated in group stages with Portugal escaping the same fate narrowly.
However, the Christiano Ronaldo-captained team was eliminated on Saturday by Uruguay with Argentina and Spain being the other giants who have fallen in the last 16 stage.

Since all African teams out of the World Cup, it will be interesting to see how this will affect the TV viewership numbers across the continent.
