How Armed Men Made Away With Ksh1 Million Church Offering

On Tuesday, three men wielding guns raided Africa Independent Pentecostal Church of Kenya (AIPCK) making away with Kshs.1 Million.

It is reported that the men arrived on a motorcycle and headed to the church office where they demanded money.

According to Bishop Bernard Muthoga they asked the secretary and the youth coordinator who were present at the time to hand over the money.

“They had pistols and they threatened to shoot them so the church staffers had no option but to comply,” the Bishop noted.

Muthoga further explained that they usually don’t keep such large amounts of money in the facility and the cash had been brought in on Monday.

“We don’t keep such large amounts of money in the office. The money had been brought in on Monday and was to be used to pay salaries and cater for operations.,” he intimated.

On their way out the robbers met one of the church staffers and they shot in the air to scare him away.

“When they were making their escape they came face to face with an official who was headed to the office and they fired their guns in the air and then they took off,” the Bishop noted.

The three later recorded their statements with the Nyeri police.

County Criminal investigations officer Charles Mutua confirmed that they had received reports on the matter and investigations were underway.
