Mutahi Ngunyi Explains Why Uhuru's Big Four Agenda is 'A Big Fat Lie'

Political scientist Mutahi Ngunyi has made a new hypothesis on President Uhuru Kenyatta's legacy project popularly known as the Big Four Agenda.

According to Mutahi, the legacy project is "a Big Fat Lie" that Kenyans may never get tangible proof of since its more vested in creating a positive mindset change towards a prosperous nation.

Through his weekly show, The Fifth Estate, Mutahi notes that "The Big Four is not about projects, in fact when it is completed, you will not be able to take a picture of it."

Terming it as an "organizing principle for national development", the columnist indicates that the Big Four Agenda doesn't exist in a physical form.

"The Big Four is a spiritual movement, it is about changing the mindset of Kenyans. It is not about transactions, it is about relationship.

"Transactions come and go. But relationships last forever. The Big Four will not show the poor how to fish, it will show the poor how to construct fishponds they'll own," Mutahi opines.

The political analyst further indicates that the Big Four is not "an insult to the intelligence of the voters" by only delivering a few specific tangibles that would be transaction oriented.

Besides, Mutahi indicates that Deputy President William Ruto would be among the best placed people to support the Big Four Agenda given that he remarkably rose from rags to riches.

"Ruto should teach us how a chicken seller became a Deputy President. Some will judge him, but the hustler nation will celebrate him," the columnist states.

"The core of Uhuru's legacy is in changing the mindset of Kenyans. His legacy is about the Big Four Ideas on food security, affordable housing, manufacturing and affordable healthcare. Ideas are the visions that build nations.

"The hustler nation is not about elections, its about the message of hope: Good news to the poor, vision to the blind, healing to the wounded and freedom to the slaves," Mutahi concludes quoting Isaiah 61:1.
