Siaya Senator James Orengo could not hold his anger back while addressing Kenyans at a gathering where he insulted Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen.
Orengo attacked the Elgeyo Marakwet Senator for his earlier remarks where he seemingly blamed ODM leader Raila Odinga for the state ordered evictions in the Mau Narok forest.
The Senate Minority Leader failed to hold his tongue while addressing a gathering terming Murkomen's comments regarding the Mau Narok evictions as proof of his foolishness.
"Can Murkomen really claim to be in government and the evictions are ongoing and he has no answer except to blame Raila?" Orengo asked.
"If there is any man who sired an idiotic child, then Murkomen's father is one," the Senate Minority Leader stated unapologetically.
Murkomen, among other Rift Valley legislators, were accused of hinting that Raila had played a big role in evicting people from the Mau forest.
“We are dismayed over what is happening here, President Uhuru Kenyatta swore to protect the rights of all Kenyans and we fully support his move to create the cut line but we wonder why some people who have title deeds and living in the settlement area are being harassed,” Murkomen stated while visiting Mau evictees.
The Elgeyo Marakwet Senator accused the security officers being used to evict people in the area of working in the interests of the opposition leader and unnamed individuals in government who want to sabotage DP Ruto’s ambitions.
Murkomen also asked those who had ‘unlawfully’ been evicted to go back to their homes saying that the government will deliver building materials, an order which was thwarted by local law enforcement.
Members of Parliament from the Maa community warned against politicising the ongoing Mau forest evictions, arguing that this could lead to ethnic tension.
On Sunday, Jubilee Party secretary-general Raphael Tuju termed the sentiments of Murkomen on the Mau evictions as personal.
