Kenyans Spend Ksh Sh350 Million on These 4 cars

Luxury is only limited by how deep you can into your pockets. In 2017, Kenyans dug extra deep to acquire a handful of comfort cars.

According to records, Kenyans spent approximately Ksh 350 Million to acquire 13 luxury cars of four brands in 2017.

Five units of personalised Range Rover Autobiography which retail from Sh26.8 million to Sh49 million were bought from different showrooms in the country.

Four additional units of Range Rover Sport priced between Ksh 21.9million and Ksh30.8million were also vended.

The data also show that one Mercedes G63 AMG 1 was also sold at an estimated Sh29.9 million.

In addition to that, three units of the Toyota Lexus LX570, each selling at Sh21.6 million, were part of the classy models bought a few Kenyans.

240 units of comfort cars including Porsches, Mercedes, Jeep, Land Rover and Jaguar were part of the sales.

Kenyans have also made two orders of the new Bentley Continental GT which is priced at Ksh 32million.

“Porsche Cayenne has become one of the best-selling vehicles in the luxury segment. This is because of its amazing value for money and adaptability on the Kenyan roads,” noted Dimitris Karakoulas, the general manager Bentley Nairobi.

“Only one 911 Cabriolet was sold in the last years. This kind of sports car is not expected to be sold in high numbers in Kenya because of unfavourable roads,” she added.

Data analysed from the Kenya Motor Industry Association (KMI) revealed that most Kenyans are buying Porsche and Land Rover models of cars from showrooms.

The data recorded between January and June 2018 revealed that the two brands were the most sought-after luxury brands in a buying surge that has been attributed to the peaceful conclusion to the 2017 election season.
