Kenyans were on Friday further outraged after David Nzomo, the man who was caught on camera battering his wife, was arraigned in court following his dramatic arrest.

Nzomo's charge sheet angered netizens after they found out that he had been accused of assault, a charge they deemed to be too light in comparison to the act.

Members of the public were further outraged that he pleaded guilty to the charge without any apparent remorse over the act.

Here are some of the reactions that were shared on the trending Twitter topic "David Nzomo".

The topic "Makueni" also trended as commentators discussed the development in the battering case.

The case received attention from social media users even as Winfred Mwende, David's wife who was battered in the viral video, spoke out on the incident.

Mwende told journalists that it wasn't the first time that her husband had beaten her up but she had not left him in over 15 years of marriage because she did not know where to go.

Some commentators on the topic also sided with Nzomo, claiming that the justice system would be tweaked to punish him severely so that he'd serve as an example.
