Mary Kilobi Confirms Love Affair With COTU Boss Francis Atwoli

A popular news anchor with KTN made details of her love affair public confirming she is madly in love with seasoned unionist Francis Atwoli.

Mary Kilobi stamped authority on rumours that she has been in an affair with the COTU Secretary General and held that only death would stand in between their love life.

Kilobi dismissed complaints by a Bungoma politician Jack Wanami Wamboka who blames the unionist for using his financial muscle to destroy their marriage, denying him a chance to be happily married to the journalist.

She terms her earlier attachment to Mr Wanami as a disastrous courtship and that she is now happy with the 69-year-old veteran trade unionist tied closely to her heart.

“I love Atwoli, he is a caring man who is always there for me. Given another chance, I will still fall in love with him,” the Kiswahili news presenter revealed to the Nairobian.

Atwoli had spotted the TV girl 13-years-ago when she was working as an intern with the Uganda Broadcasting Corporation.

At the time, the damsel was a student at Makerere University pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Literature and Kiswahili.

Atwoli had turned up for an interview and had interest in meeting the Kenyan girl he’d been told was working at the station.

He admits that they exchanged contacts and had pleasantries with Kilobi at that time and stayed connected until 2016 when he finally won her heart.

Kilobi noted the COTU boss is as a responsible man who comes home straight from work. They live in a lavish home in Kajiado.

“He proposed to me but I said no. But he insisted. He persistently stated that he was serious and would wait for even 1,000 years for me to say ‘yes’ and marry him,” Kilobi told the weekly newspaper.

She holds that “I have now realised that age should never be a key consideration in a relationship. Atwoli is that guy who is never bothered about mundane issues that sometimes break up marriages.”

Just two months ago, Atwoli sent a delegation to Kilobi’s rural home in Kavula village, Bumula sub-county.

The visit ensured all traditional requirements for marriage were attained before the family could hand over the KTN news anchor to Atwoli as his third wife.

34-year-old Kilobi had earlier thought of denying Atwoli a hand in marriage over their age difference but now says she is well comfortable enough even as a third wife given the katibu is such a God-fearing man.

"His commitment to God really attracted me to him. I had never come across a man who fears and loves God like him. He prays every morning for all of us,” she opened up to the paper.
