Valarie Masibo, Woman Brutally Battered by Husband Over Ksh500 Speaks Out

A three-months pregnant lady by the name Valarie Masibo was over the weekend brutally battered by her husband alleging she misused money he had left for dinner.

According to Masibo, the 26-year-old partner, Naftali Lusuli, beat her after accusing her of failing to prepare dinner despite leaving Ksh500 to purchase the meal.

The victim informed the media that she had started dating the man in March and that he’d gone home on Friday drunk and started accusing her of being wasteful of the money he had left her.

Speaking about the incident the left her face badly swollen, she narrated how the man had been assaulting her but she chose to hang on.

"He came home drunk, locked the doors and started beating me with a shoe and stepping on me. I tried to protect myself but he was too strong. He started pouring cold water on me, undressed me and started beating me everywhere. He took a cooking stick and hit me everywhere," she was quoted by The Standard.

"I have known him for five months. This is the fifth time he has beaten me. I used to forgive him hoping he would change. This time he went too far and the neighbours had to intervene.

"When he saw me, he could not believe that he was the one who had inflicted such injuries. He pleaded with me to forgive him but with the suffering, I have gone through, I just want the law to take its course," she noted.

Vivian expressed that though they had known each other for a short while, they decided to stay together when they found out she was pregnant.

As per a report by The Star, she was rescued by the police from a house where the suspect had locked her up before being taken to the hospital.

The suspect, who works in a slaughterhouse reportedly used a sharp object to cut a section of her ear which was luckily reattached.

"He works at the slaughterhouse and since we met he has been so brutal. This time, I thought he would slaughter me," she narrated.

Vivian’s case got to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations' (DCI) attention after a Twitter user tagged them.

The Directorate on Sunday confirmed: "The suspect has been arrested & is currently in lawful custody. Thank you for the information."
