Deputy President William Ruto is set to receive a prestigious award in Uganda on Saturday 18.
According to Uganda Young Achievers Awards organisers, Ruto will be awarded the 2018 Lifetime Achievement Award at this year's ceremony that will take place at Kampala Serena Hotel.
He is also expected to deliver the Keynote address at the event.

The event will be hosted under the theme; “Rewarding innovation and excellence recognizing of young entrepreneurs and inspiring the next generation of world leaders”.
“H.E. William Ruto represents a generation of new youthful leaders across the continent who have a passion for young people’s well being and is a key voice and strong proponent of youth empowerment.
“His story of triumph against the odds, and achievements in leadership from a humble background to being a key leader in East Africa’s biggest economy resonates with dreams and aspirations of many young people in East Africa and Africa as a whole,” Awel Uwihanganye, co-founder of the awards remarked.
The 2018 Young Achievers Awards are organized by Reach A Hand Uganda, a youth-centred organization focusing on youth empowerment programs with focus on livelihoods and skills development, sexual reproductive health rights, behaviour change communication and HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention.
“Ruto represents a generation of new youthful leaders across the continent who have a passion for young people’s well being, his a story worth sharing to inspire young people not only in Uganda, but Africa,” noted Reach A Hand founder Humphrey Nabimanya.
The event will bring together over 1,000 young people in celebration of innovation, enterprise, achievement and leadership of young people.
Prominent recipients of the award include Presidents Yoweri Museveni of Uganda and Paul Kagame of Rwanda.
