Mutahi Ngunyi Explains Why DP Ruto Needs Yoweri Museveni

Political analyst Prof Mutahi Ngunyi on Sunday opined that DP William Ruto needed to consult Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni in his quest to take over the reigns from Uhuru Kenyatta in the 2022 elections.

In his weekly show the Fifth Estate, Prof Ngunyi advised that every politician, especially those seeking the presidency should have a political mentor.

"Ruto should spend his Sundays visiting wise men who like him including Mwai Kibaki, Uncle Moody Awori and Yoweri Museveni for mentorship," Ngunyi explained.

"To become president you cannot be impatient, obvious and entitled, If Raila had stuck with Kibaki, he would be president today.

"If Ruto allows Uhuru to make him president on Uhuru's terms, it will happen but if he sees it as an entitlement he will fall flat on his face," The analyst added.

The team conveyed that no one had ever won the presidency by running on the first try stating that Raila ran for the seat for 21 years, Kibaki (15) and Uhuru (10).

"Ruto has never run for president and no one has ever become president on their first attempt. To beat history. go underground and yield to the winds of change.

"He must become as humble as a dove but as wise as a serpent," the team maintained.
