The Standard Media Group on Friday officially unveiled the faces of four new anchors who would be joining the KTN news team following the exit of Betty Kyallo.

In a video posted on its social media pages, the TV network announced that Brenda Czeda Radido, Jessie Rodgers, Maalika Kazia and Frida Mwaka would be the new faces of news.

Brenda Radido was previously at the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) before taking up the position at KTN.

Maalika has been a presenter with Radio Africa Group's East FM station and was the first among the four to hint at the move through her active Twitter handle where she posted the teaser for the big unveiling.

Jesse Rodgers is arguably the biggest surprise, having been a student presenter at KUTV, a station owned by the Kenyatta University.

"I knew I had a passion for journalism from way back. I was the type of kid that would see the likes of Catherine Kasvuli on TV and tell my parents I would one day be like them.

"When I interacted with my friends they’d tell me how good I am at articulating my words and in spoken English, that’s how the interest and passion developed," he said in a past interview.
