Uhuru’s Delegation Trolled Over Lack of Pen and Notebook During Meeting With Donald Trump

Kenyans on Twitter on Tuesday criticized President Uhuru Kenyatta’s delegation to the US for failure to take notes during the meeting with his counterpart Donald Trump.

Through photos posted on Kenyatta’s Twitter handle, the US delegation is seen with notebooks and pens, taking points from the deliberations.

On the other hand, the Kenya delegation did not have any notebooks but only had cups for their drinks, which drew mixed reactions from netizens.

Here are some of the comments:

“Kenyan officials never take notes during official meetings with foreign states. We can never make progress,” one netizen remarked.

“Now this one is from Wakanda? So American government delegation takes notes but Kenyans are sophisticated, because of vibranium and do not need to? We record blah blah! Say it loud, record and play to yourself girl!” another added.

Mbona bench yetu haina makaratasi unlike hiyo nyingine. Ama ni staffroom manenoz? (Why are there no notebooks on our desk unlike that of the Americans. Or is this like a staffroom),” noted another tweep.

"Just smiling like adverts when all this is at the tax I pay. Cry my beloved country!" a netizen lamented.

However, one seemingly backed the members of the team asserting that they might have been using a dictaphone to record the proceedings for later playback.

“You clearly living in the 1900's. These days we can record conversations with a dictaphone. The shorthand days are long gone.” stated another.

President Kenyatta who is serving his second and last term in office visited Trump with the aim of increasing trade between the two countries.

The two heads of state also discussed the direct flights from Nairobi to New York that is set to commence in October with the aim of boosting tourism and enhancing a mutual benefit between the two nations.

President Kenyatta is set to jet back into the country ahead of the meeting with the British Prime Minister Theresa May on Thursday.
