Omar Hassan Announced 7th Winner of Safaricom Ksh7.8 Million Maisha Ni Mpesa Tu Apartment

Omar Hassan has been announced as the last winner of the apartments in Safaricom's #MaishaNiMPesaTu promotion.

The 27-year-old winner of the Ksh7.8 apartment, who hails from Eastleigh in Nairobi, was revealed on Wednesday.

Hassan works as a supervisor in a meat processing and exportation company in the busy estate that is famed for clothes and footwear business.

The winner revealed that he has been renting a house in Eastleigh with four of his friends.

Speaking at Richland Point Apartments, Hassan noted: "We used to stay five of us paying Ksh26,000. Another Ksh2,000 for water with the total rent amounting to around Ksh30,000".

Hassan further revealed that he is married and has been using M-Pesa services frequently in the course of his duties as a supervisor.

The handing over ceremony for the two-bedroom apartment was presided by the Head of Department Financial services at M-Pesa Boniface Gitonga and comedian Chipukeezy.

Following the conclusion of the promotion, Safaricom gave all the construction workers at #MaishaNiMPesaTu apartment site some shopping of foodstuffs as a token of appreciation.

Hassan, the 7th and final winner joins Meru businesswoman Jeniffer Kathure, South African designer Erick Lindenberg and James Njagi, an artisan at Gikomba Market who won other apartments before him.

Other previous winners of the Ksh7.8 million 2 bedroom apartments located in Nairobi's Kahawa West estate, off Thika Road and the Eastern Bypass are Benson Kilonzo, a foreman from Kitui CountyJoseph Wairimu from Riruta, Nairobi and Mzee Juma Saidi from Mombasa County who works in Uganda and uses M-Pesa to sustain his family back at Coast.

The promotion aimed at creating awareness on how to simplify lives by using the most popular and efficient mobile banking service in Kenya - M-Pesa.
