3 Things DPP Should Investigate About CJ Maraga - Mutahi Ngunyi

Controversial Political Analyst Mutahi Ngunyi has indicated that the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Noordin Haji should now train his eyes on Chief Justice (CJ) David Maraga.

Through his weekly talk show, The 5th Estate, Mutahi indicated that its high time that the judiciary gets "revisited" sentiments that come in the wake of the arrest of Deputy CJ Philomena Mbete Mwilu.

Terming the judiciary as "a corruption swamp that needs draining, Mutahi stated: "Uhuru should revisit the Judiciary unapologetically. The public needs answers".

Among the things that Mutahi wants CJ Maraga investigated over are the claims that the Supreme Court of Kenya (SCOK) nullified the August 8 Presidential Election using fake documents and that the former Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) was unable to investigate the matter.

Secondly, Mutahi indicates that the DPP should investigate whether there was contact between the Opposition (NASA) and SCOK during the 2017 General Elections which could have influenced the election nullification.

Lastly, Mutahi wants the DPP to investigate whether CJ Maraga's trip to Lithuania on September 1, 2017 was on the influence of Hungarian-American political activist and business magnate George Soros given that Lithuania has no strong diplomatic links with the judiciary.

There were speculations in the run-up to the 2017 General Elections as the NGO Coordination Board Executive Chairman Fazul Mohammed accused an NGO associated with Rosemary Odinga of receiving Ksh500 million from Soros, the Hungarian billionaire.

Presenting a petition to oust CJ Maraga, Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu back then indicated: "He must be made to explain the circumstances of his visit to Lithuania and his interactions thereof."

The vocal MP explained that his concerns were informed by the notion that "Lithuania is known as a crossroad for regime change activists and their intelligence handlers."

Mutahi termed such a move by the DPP as a bid to "explain things that do not add up" further adding that: "Revisiting is not revenge, it is establishing the truth".

Quoting the book of Proverbs in the Bible, Mutahi concluded: "The wicked run when no one is chasing them, but an honest person is as brave as a lion".
