Senators are expected to pitch camp in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County from September 24th-28th in the first of the newly introduced 'Senate Mashinani' sittings.
It will be the first time the Senate is conducting its business outside Nairobi, with the move meant to bolster public participation and awareness at grassroots level.
The senators will be hosted by the Uasin Gishu County Assembly where plenary sessions and committe meetings will be held.
Assembly Speaker David Kiplagat confirmed that they were adequately prepared for the various scheduled events.
He further explained that all Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) would go on recess ahead of the sittings.
The ward reps will, however, be able to follow proceedings from the public gallery.
Kiplagat expressed delight that Uasin Gishu would become the first county outside Nairobi to host sittings of the Senate.
A delegation from the Senate led by Isiolo Senator Fatuma Dullo was in Eldoret on Friday to follow-up on preparations for the sittings.
"We said as Senators we will use what is available on the ground and we are happy that Uasin Gishu Assembly is ready to host us," Dullo noted.
Uasin Gishu Senator Margaret Kamar disclosed that two public participation forums would also be conducted in Eldoret.
