Chilling Details of How Meru Senior Magistrate's Daughter Was Murdered

Details have emerged on the chilling murder of Githongo Law Courts Senior Resident Magistrate Carol Kemei whose daughter Maribel Kapolon was found murdered.

According to the Daily Nation, the body of the nine-year-old had cuts on the thighs and one arm appeared to have been burnt with acid.

The little girl's body showed signs of having been tortured and killed by her kidnappers shortly after they had demanded a ransom for her release.

Maribel's body was spotted on Saturday evening by locals who had visited a giant Meru Oak which is a tourist attraction in Imenti forest.

The details of the condition of the body were told by a security agent who saw the body before police removed it from the scene.

The officer noted that the body was lying face down and a part of the head had no hair.

Police records indicated that the nine-year-old was in school uniform at the time of the murder.

Preliminary reports observed that Maribel was picked by a man known to her near Total Petrol Station along the Meru town-Makutano road.

On Monday, in solidarity with the family, advocates practising in Meru held peaceful demonstrations before seeking an audience with North Imenti deputy OCPD David Kavuu and North Imenti deputy county commissioner Isaac Masinde.

“We are working round the clock to ensure the perpetrators are brought to book. Investigations are ongoing and one of the suspects was arrested in Nairobi,” the OCPD was quoted by the publication.
