CJ David Maraga Condoles With Magistrate Caroline Kemei on Death of Daughter Maribel Kapolon

Chief Justice David Maraga on Monday sent a condolence message to Meru Senior Resident Magistrate Caroline Kemei on the death of her daughter Maribel Kapolon.

In a statement seen by Kenyans.co.keCJ Maraga promised the Magistrate that every effort was being made by the authorities to find and punish her killer.

"I have already talked to the Cabinet Secretary for Interior and Coordination of National Government Fred Matiang'i and the Director of Criminal Investigations, and they have given me a firm assurance that everything is being done to bring them to book," he assured.

He went further to condole with the bereaved family expressing his deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathy.

"I am aware that the circumstances behind her tragic death make it all the more painful for you and your family. Our thoughts are with you and your family.

"Our thoughts are with you and we pray that the God of all Peace will heal the wounds left by Maribel's demise," he added.

The nine-year-old primary school pupil was reported missing the previous week and her remains discovered by police officers at Gitoro Forest on Saturday.

According to the officers who collected her body from the scene, she was still in her school uniform and in one shoe.

DCI boss George Kinoti on Monday confirmed that a suspect had been arrested in connection to the murder that has been linked to a possible domestic row.

“We suspect a domestic issue that led to this. We are interrogating one suspect,” stated Kinoti.
