Joe Jowi's Actions That Raised Suspicion in Monica Kimani's Murder

Police have revealed how TV anchor Jackie Maribe's fiancé Joseph Kuria Irungu alias Joe Jowi raised suspicion to his alleged role in Monica Nyawira Kimani's murder.

According to Daily Nation, police sources noted that Kuria took selfies of the 'gunshot wound' on his left chest below the shoulders, and shared them on WhatsApp, a situation that appeared strange.

Jowi claimed to be a victim of the controversial shooting incident at Royal Park Estate, Lang'ata which investigators suspected to be a smokescreen.

Police also questioned how the chief suspect was not operated at all to remove bullet shrapnel from the calibre wound.

Interestingly, no cartridge had been recovered from the scene and watchmen of apartments and offices near the alleged scene of shooting did not hear a gunshot or commotion.

Another police source is quoted indicating that multilateration (MLAT) of his phone’s radio signals had been traced to Luciane Apartments on Kitale Lane off Denis Pritt Road, where Ms Kimani lived.

Reports indicate that he reported at Lang'ata Police Station that he had been shot, but said that he would seek treatment.

Kuria also told the police that after he was shot by the three men who sped off using a motorbike, he went for Jackie and the two rushed to Nairobi West Hospital.

He also alleged that he was admitted at Lang'ata Hospital for treatment the same evening till Monday morning.

Police believe that Kuria may provide a crucial lead to what happened the day Monica Kimani was killed.
