DCI Reveals How Obado's Aide Michael Oyamo Tried to Deceive Them

An investigating officer from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Wednesday filed an affidavit disclosing two ways Migori Governor Okoth Obado's personal assistant Michael Oyamo had tried to deceive them.

The officer Clement Mwangi told the court that Oyamo played a key role in Sharon Otieno's brutal murder being the one who lured the University student to her death.

According to the affidavit, the P.A handed Sharon and journalist Barack Oduor to the killers after which he went to Uriri Police Station.

In a bid to cover his tracks, Oyamo recorded a false statement through OB Number 19/4/9/2018 alleging that he was also a victim of kidnapping.

The second false claim debunked in the officer's submission is that Oyamo went to Kisii Level V Hospital at around 9 PM and got treatment.

“I have also established from Kisii Level V Hospital that the accused person was never a patient at the hospital on September 4,” Mwangi revealed.

The DCI officer added that the journalist had recorded a statement implicating Oyamo, the governor and Caspal Obiero in the murder.

“I have established that accused and Caspal Ajwang Obiero were the personal assistants to Obado tasked to manage the matter of Sharon’s pregnancy to avoid public scandal on the behalf Of Governor Obado,” he added.

Oyamo was remanded at the Industrial Area until October 8 when his bond application will be heard.

On Wednesday, Migori Governor Okoth Obado's bail application was pushed earning him more nights at the Industrial Area Remand Prison.

Judge Jessie Lessit maintained she would deliver her ruling on Thursday, September 27 at 2 pm.

In both cases, the prosecution opposed the application for bail.
