Muthwani Member of County Assembly (MCA) George Kingori was on Wednesday frogmarched and washed with dust by angry residents who were protesting in Utawala.
The MCA is accused of neglecting the residents as lorry operators turn their road into a dust dump.
His attempts to address the crowd were futile as the irate residents chanted, "Amekuwa wapi (where has he been?)"
Protests broke out in the morning with roads being blocked and tyres burnt leading to a huge traffic snarl up at Airways road.
A local stated that the early morning incident had inconvenienced commuters having to walk for long distances to board PSVs.
Reports indicated the residents were complaining about sand and ballast trucks messing up the road and bringing a lot of dust.
The locals further highlighted that the lorry drivers harassed them as they took their children to school.
On the other hand, Embakasi East MP Babu Owino assured the residents that the construction of the road would commence in October.
"I have met the Director General of the Kenya Urban Roads Authority and agreed that the construction of Benedictor to kinca road at Utawala ward in Embakasi east constituency will commence next week," read the tweet.
A landlady who owns a building near the road expressed her frustrations at the problem facing the area expressing that the dust had depressed the occupancy of her building.
“The dust is really bad. I have lost tenants who complain about the dust," remarked the landlady.
