Evans' Kidero's Worth and Property Exposed by EACC

A recent investigation on former Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero's life has reavealed his actual net worth, exposing a number of his prime properties in the city.

The Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission (EACC) says the former governor has way over Ksh9 Billion in assests across the country.

EACC made the revelations in its submission before the anti-corruption court  in Nairobi, opposing an application seeking to stop them from investigating Kidero's alleged involvement in fraud.

The commission's investigating officer Abdi Umar, found that among the assests are 11 cars that include range rovers,Mercedes Benz and Toyota Pugeau.

Kidero, the probe found, is the owner of  Yala Towers in Nairobi. The towers are estimated to be worth Ksh1.2 billion.

A 50-rental-unit apartment along Riara road that is valued at ksh1 billion is also listed as Kidero's investment as well as Muthaiga Heights.

EACC is also watching closely a bank account in Kidero's name. The fixed deposit account received Ksh316 million betweeen 2011 and 2015 in suspeicious transactions.

Some five other bank accounts, Standard Chartered 4 accounts, and one at Commercial Bank of Africa are also on the EACC radar.

Kidero has always defended his wealth saying he built his empire since 1983 when he was first employed. He also argues that his job as the Managing Director in Mumias earned him roughly Ksh300 million in salaries during the months in 2003 to 2012.

He boosts of having made  more than Ksh313 million paid to him as rent. He will be facing the EACC team in court on 13 October, 2018.
