Kivutha Kibwana's Meeting With Mukhisa Kituyi Gets Kenyans Talking

United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) Secretary-General Mukhisa Kituyi met Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana on Thursday, sparking conversations among Kenyans online.

Describing him as a friend, Kituyi revealed that he sought to know more about Kibwana's achievements as Governor.

"Nice encounter with my friend Prof. Kibwana.

"He shared the secrets behind the runaway success he enjoys as Governor of Makueni,"  Kituyi wrote.

Kibwana is widely considered as one of the best county bosses in office due to various programmes he successfully initiated.

They include universal healthcare, fruit and dairy processing plants and open contracting.

Kituyi who has previously served as a Minister in former President Mwai Kibaki's administration is among the most prominent Kenyan figures in the United Nations.

The duo has previously been urged by a section of Kenyans online to go for the Presidency in 2022 under banners such as 'Wapende Wasipende' (Whether they like it or not).

Others, however, urged them to stay away from the quest for the Presidency owing to the murky nature of its politics.
