DCJ Mwilu's Staff Arrested For Lying About Abduction

An employee of Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu was on Friday arrested by police for making false information to the police.

Police investigations established that he was lying about his abduction.

"There was no such incident. He was arrested and booked under OB. No 74/2/11/2018 and will be arraigned on November 5," read a statement from the Director of Criminal Investigations.

It explained that Cosmas Mutua Daudi was not forcefully captured and held by people who demanded to know Mwilu's residence, as he claimed in a report filed at Kilimani Police Station on November 8, 2017.

He alleged that he was stopped by three people in a motorcycle who demanded to know Mwilu's residence, and was abducted after he declined to comply.

The report by Mutua that was booked under OB No. 44/08/11/2017 narrated that the incident took place after he went to Nakumatt Junction along Ngong' Road to shop.

He added that the unidentified people forced him to board their motorcycle and took off towards Adams Arcade before joining Elgeyo Marakwet Road.

On October 24 last year, an unknown gunman shot and injured the DCJ's driver in Nairobi.

The driver, identified as Police Constable Titus Musyoka, was shot outside Marsabit Plaza along Ngong' Road.

They later recovered two guns believed to have been stolen from Musyoka.
