DCI Arrest Kajiado Sergeant-at-Arms for Defiling Minor

A Sergeant-at-Arms in Kajiado County was on Thursday arrested for allegedly defiling a 12-year-old child.

Dickson Okoyo Ndemo had failed to appear in court prompting an arrest warrant being issued for his retrieval.

He is set to answer to charges of committing an indecent act with a child contrary to section II (i) of the sexual offences Act No 3 of 2006.

According to reports by the DCI, the offence was committed on August 6, 2015.

According to the Act, a person who commits an offence of defilement with a child between the age of 12 and 15 years is liable upon conviction to imprisonment for a term of not less than 20 years.

Additionally, a person can be charged with attempted defilement which is an act defined as an attempt to commit an act which would cause penetration with a child.

"A person who commits an offence of attempted defilement with a child is liable upon conviction to imprisonment for a term of not less than ten years," reads section 9(2) of the Sexual Offences Act.

Elsewhere in Isiolo, DCI detectives arrested James Muriuki (43) for being in possession of elephant tusks weighing 12 Kgs.

Similarly, five suspects found trafficking narcotics weighing 103 Kgs worth over Ksh3 Million were arrested at Konje Estate within Meru Town following a tip-off from members of the public.

Earlier, George Gitau Maina, the second suspect in the Dubai cash in transit theft where millions of shillings were stolen by three Kenyans, was arrested and later arraigned in court.
