Kalonzo Musyoka's Surprise Gift to Mzee Moi

Former Vice president Kalonzo Musyoka surprised retired President Daniel Moi on Friday during his visit to Mzee at his Kabarak home.

Unlike other guests, Kalonzo gifted Moi with two goats and a bouquet of flowers as a friendly gesture.

Musyoka thanked the old man for the support he accorded him and when he lost his father.

He was also grateful that the second president gave him a chance to serve in his government as a minister. The responsibility bestowed on him help Kalonzo develop his leadership skills.

Kalonzo stated that “We were received with generosity here at Kabarak and Mzee Moi is in excellent spirit." 

He added that "He gave us good advice on national unity and even advised the young leaders on how to work slowly towards attaining the highest level in leadership.”

The former VP was accompanied by his son and East African Legislative Assembly member Kennedy Musyoka, Senators Enock Wambua (Kitui), Mutula Kilonzo Jnr (Makueni) and Kajiado Central MP Kanchory Memusi, was received by Baringo Senator Gideon Moi and MPs William Kamket (Tiaty) and Silas Tiren (Moiben).

They held a one-and-half hour meeting during which the former President called on the leaders to unite, according to a statement released by his office.

Mzee Moi urged the leaders to be honest in their leadership, adding that they should forge friendship rather than disintegration because the future of the country is in their hands.

“Some of you will be presidents and ministers in charge of the country. You need to take time and know the whole country and develop a friendship. Take care of the people,” advised Moi.
