Senator Malala Achesa Strike Truce After Nudes Scandal

Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala on Sunday spoke on having forgiven Sports CS Rashid Achesa after a bitter exchange over scandalous photoshopped photos.

The two leaders attended a fundraising organised by Kakamega Women Rep Elsie Muhanda where they raised funds for their Maendeleo Sacco.

In a phone conversation with Kenyans.co.ke, Senator Malala confirmed that he had indeed struck a truce with Sports CS Rashid Achesa.

"I decided to forgive CS Achesa and move on. We are young people and it is only fair that we consider another life that is away from antagonizing all the time. I do not intend to have that kind of relationship emerging again," stated Senator Malala.

He spoke while attending a football tourney in Khisero, Kakamega where he has engaged youth in the Senator Malala Tournament that has attracted a team from each constituency in the County.

The sports CS was absent from the event that has seen organizers partner with giant betting firm Sportpesa, Khetias Supermarket and other corporates in the region.

Last month CS Achesa was summoned by KICC police for allegedly sponsoring the production of photoshopped photos aimed at tainting Senator Malala's image.

Three journalists were arrested in connection to the controversial photos with the Media Council revoking their accreditation days after the arrest.

David Onyango Ndolo, Stafford Ondego and Alex Mulwa Nzyoki were presented in court before Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi and released due to the temporarily suspended sections of the Computer Misuse and Cybercrime Act of 2018.

The prosecution stated that there was no case against the journalists due to the suspended clauses 22 and 23 on false publications which had been greatly criticised for failing to define 'fake/false news', thus raising fears that it would be used as a tool to silence journalists.
