DP William Ruto to Celebrate Birthday, Wedding Anniversary and PhD Graduation

Deputy President William Ruto will, on Friday December 21, celebrate his biggest day yet.

The DP is set to graduate with a PhD from the University of Nairobi on a day that triples as his wedding anniversary as well as his birthday.

Ruto, who is set to graduate alongside 9,000 others, successfully defended his thesis titled “Influence of Anthropogenic Activities on Land Use in Western Kenya”.

He was born on December 21, 1966, in Sambut village, Kamagut, Uasin Gishu county and married his wife Rachel Ruto on the same day in 1991.

He was pursuing a PhD in Plant Ecology at the University and failed to graduate with the 2017 cohort over what he had termed set requirements.

Ruto, in April, revealed the main reason why he kept visiting western was since he got his wife, Rachel Ruto, from the region.

"Oparanya says I come to Kakamega often. It's true. I got my better half from here," shared the DP.

Rachel grew up in Kakamega and attended Likuyani Primary School before proceeding to the renown Butere Girls High School.

Ruto will also be turning 52 on Friday.

He was on Thursday, December 20 spotted at the University’s rehearsals.
