Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu will on Friday join Deputy President William Ruto and two other high-ranking leaders during the University of Nairobi (UoN) graduation ceremony.
Other leaders include Devolution Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa and Meru Senator Mithika Linturi.
Mwilu and Wamalwa will graduate with Masters degree in Law, DP Ruto will attain a PhD in Plant Ecology whereas Mithika will be graduating with a Degree in law.
Ruto was finally cleared to Graduate after he successfully defended his thesis before the institution’s examiners after years of being turned down.
UoN had also been engaged in a court battle with the Meru Senator and deregistered him on claims that he had presented fake papers during admission.
Linturi then sued the institution accusing it of taking part in political witch hunt aimed at frustrating him.
“It was illegal, unreasonable and an utter show of bad faith for the university to deregister Mr Linturi without conducting its own independent investigations or informing him at the very least so as to afford him the right to be heard,” argued Lawyer Tom Ojienda in court.
The four will be among 9,000 others who the institution approved to graduate on Friday.
Ruto will also have a triple celebration as his wedding anniversary and birthday are marked on December 21.
