Raila Odinga Addresses Allegations on Wrecking Jubilee Party

ODM leader Raila Odinga on Monday rubbished reports that he is wrecking the Jubilee Party from within following the handshake.

Speaking during the ground-breaking ceremony for the Mama Ngina Waterfront Project in Mombasa, Raila told off those criticizing his support for President Uhuru Kenyatta.

"Oh 'now Raila is coming to Jubilee, he wants to kick out some people…' Nonsense," Raila quipped.

His remarks came hours after Jubilee Nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura claimed that an outsider was rocking the boat.

"Jubilee Party a big tent with two poles, Uhuru and William Ruto, a camel came and tore it apart. Now we have #TeamKieleweke and #TeamTangatanga.

"Don't cry too much Jubilee orphan. It was a come we stay relationship. It wasn't a marriage after all. Watu wajipange mapema (Let people strategize early enough)," Mwaura had lamented.

During the address in Mombasa, Raila equally urged politicians to stop premature conversation on 2022 presidential elections.

"We're now in 2019, there’s still 2020, 2021 before 2022… so we are telling these people to give us space to develop Kenya first," Raila stated.

"This is not the time for political campaigns; let us avoid politics and focus on the issue of development and Kenyans," he added.

On his part, President Uhuru hit back at Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria and others over recent remarks regarding Jubilee's development record in Central Kenya.

"Kwa hivyo hao washenzi waachane na mimi. Na hivyo ndivyo itakua (Those bothering should leave me alone. That is how it will be)," he quipped.
