Mithika Linturi Questions Uhuru's Loyalty to DP Ruto

Meru Senator, Mithika Linturi, on Sunday accused President Uhuru Kenyatta of turning a blind eye towards Deputy President, William Ruto, on the ongoing political attacks at his presidential ambitions.

Speaking to Meru residents, Linturi stated that the president had openly declared that he would support Ruto unconditionally after he served his two terms.

He further claimed that during the campaigns for the president, Uhuru used to refer to Ruto as his dear brother but was now keeping mum despite constant attacks directed at his deputy.

"When we were hunting, honorable Uhuru used to call William Ruto my brother and promised him he will also help him once he serves his ten years as a president," he noted.

"But now things have changed, however, you cannot use someone as a bridge to cross the river and when you are done with him you let him go with the stormy waters" Linturi went on to add.

Furthermore, he proclaimed that the deputy president had done a lot for the community including, commissioning development projects and contributing to harambees.

His sentiments came at a time when the immediate former Jubilee vice chairman, David Murathe, resigned from his position.

Earlier on, Murathe, a close friend of Uhuru and also ex-Gatanga MP, launched an anti-Ruto campaign declaring that he was not eligible to run for president in 2022 because his fate was constitutionally intertwined with the president’s.

Elsewhere, Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri on Sunday called for President Kenyatta's resignation alleging that he had lost touch with the team that helped him ascend to the presidency.

Ngunjiri further indicated that he would continue endorsing DP Ruto for the top seat not as payment of a political debt, but in line with the Jubilee structures.
