David Murathe Disowns Power Deal Between Uhuru and Ruto

Jubilee Vice Chairman David Murathe has asked Deputy President William Ruto to retire with Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022.

Murathe remarked that Kikuyu community does not have an MoU with anyone regarding the 2022 elections.

He further mentioned that Uhuru and Ruto had already led the government for two terms and should both retire.

“Let you not be deceived by the Tangatanga movement because both Ruto and Uhuru have served their full terms and should retire together," he stated.

He was speaking in Vihiga during the 39th Maragoli cultural.

"If you (Ruto) have led with Uhuru for two terms, what else do you want? We don't know someone who will guard us but we know someone who will break us. We will take someone who will safeguard Mt Kenya."

The close ally to Uhuru intimated that Jubilee has no presidential candidate.

"If he Ruto has a MoU with Uhuru Kenyatta, then that was an agreement between two individuals," he stated.

Murathe averred that Ruto should not 'pretend' to be speaking on behalf of Jubilee on matters of the referendum.

"He is going around opposing the referendum. Jubilee is yet to take a position. What is he opposing yet there is no question."

Murathe joined ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi, Devolution Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa and Cotu boss Francis Atwoli in the annual event that is usually celebrated on December 26.

The Jubilee vice chair was accompanied by former Mukurweini MP Kabando wa Kabando.
