Mystery as Ex-MMU Girl Susan Njoki Found Dead is Still Active on Instagram

The late Susan Njoki, a former student of Multimedia University, whose body was found at City Mortuary on Monday, continues to baffle friends and family as her social media account is still active, weeks after her death.

According to the police, she was hit by a vehicle and died on the spot as she was crossing a road in Ruiru on December 31, at around 2am.

Suleiman Ngige, her brother, spoke to Kenyans.co.ke and explained that after she went missing on December 30, they relied on her Instagram activity to keep hoping that she was alive.

It was her friends who followed her private account who noticed notifications showing that the account was still liking different posts and following new pages.

However, her family began to cast doubt on her social media activity after news of her disappearance were reported on mainstream media but she did not turn up as would be expected.

The deceased's family suspect that her phone may have been stolen because she had not disclosed her login information to anyone in the family.

On the fateful night, the late student had travelled to Ruiru to look for a house ahead of her impending relocation from Ongata Rongai, Kajiado County.

Njoki was last seen in Nairobi’s central business district at 11pm after reporting to work earlier in the day.

“Her workmate, whom we have spoken to, told us that the last conversation she had with Njoki, was when Njoki inquired if she had found a matatu home,” Ngige told reporters.

After the accident, the car driver called the police who took her body to the morgue where she was found on Monday, January 14.
