Jubilee Party Secretary-General Raphael Tuju has announced a strategy for a paradigm shift in the party that will culminate in internal elections before March next year.
The party will from February start an expansion plan to open offices in all 47 counties.
To kickstart the process, Tuju has sent eight teams to counties to hunt for office space and report back to him.
The CS without portfolio has described it as the biggest, most ambitious political project since independence.
"We are talking about a paradigm shift here and for everybody should understand that it is in the best interest for us to have really strong parties," Tuju told Nation
Calls for party elections were fuelled by former Vice Chairman David Murathe's exit.
Upon his exit, Murathe unveiled a movement that he would use to achieve his goal of preventing Deputy President William Ruto, the party's second in command, from ascending to power in 2022
He was speaking during an interview on KTN when he unveiled the Stop Ruto Movement and stated that there were a lot of leaders within Jubilee and outside who shared his sentiments.
Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru declared that the ruling Party needed to hold fresh elections urgently in order to avert any more divisions amongst its members.
"It is therefore imperative, and in order, that the Jubilee Party hold party elections soonest possible, to forestall internal divisions, and ensure that statements are made by Elected Party Officials and that they, in fact, represent the views of the Jubilee Party as a whole," read one tweet in part.
