A tanker, on Monday, exploded into flames killing two, a driver and his turnboy, at Kaburengo interchange along Eldoret-Webuye Road.
The tanker was reportedly transporting sulphuric acid before it crashed and burst into flames.
The deceased were burnt beyond recognition even as medics, from Red Cross and St. Johns Ambulance, attempted to put out the flames.
According to witnesses, the burst further spread the flames burning several cars that were nearby.
The two, who perished, bring the total deaths arising in accidents at the spot to 16 since December 2018.
On December 21, another fuel tanker rammed into a matatu at that interchange killing 12 people on the spot.
The accident took place just hours after two other trucks collided bursting into flames along Nairobi-Mombasa highway in Kinwenzi, Makueni County.
The incident led to police issuing an advisory to all motorists plying the route.
“We wish to caution motorists using the Nairobi-Mombasa highway that there is an accident involving two trucks between Machinery and Kambu area,” read a statement from the police.
No casualties were, however, reported in the incident as members of the public rushed to the scene and pulled the two drivers from the burning trucks.
