Ambassador Godec Holds Farewell Party

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Thursday bade outgoing US Ambassador Robert Godec and his wife Lori farewell at State House Nairobi.

In an event also attended by DP William Ruto, the Head of State commended the envoys for strengthening relations between Kenya and US.

"Kenya and US witnessed expanded relations across all sectors of cooperation including health, food security and transport, key among them being the launch of direct flights between Nairobi and New York," Uhuru stated.

The president also bade farewell to the outgoing Ethiopian Ambassador to Kenya, Dina Mufti Sid who had also called on him at State House, Nairobi.

On Wednesday, Ambassador Godec was treated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) to a farewell party as he prepared to leave the country.

Among those who graced the occasion was MoFA PS Michael Kamau, Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) George Kinoti, Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Noordin Haji and Chief Justice David Maraga.

During the party, Godec expressed his gratitude for the hospitality and support he received during his tenure.

"Asanteni sana to the many, many friends and colleagues across Kenya who have extended their wisdom, hospitality, and generosity to Lori (wife) and me over the years. Kenya will forever remain in our hearts.

"Lori and I are so very grateful for our time in Kenya. We will never forget this magical country and all of the remarkable Kenyans we have met over the years. Just a few of the many photos from yesterday evening. Thank you to everyone and kwaheri ya kuonana!" Godec stated.

According to MoFA, during Godec's tenure, Kenya and USA have witnessed enhanced and expanded relations across all sectors of cooperation including health, food security, and transport.

 

 

 

 

 Godec also expressed his appreciation over the performances made by various artists and dancers during the party.

"Your energy, creativity, and passion represent the very best of the indomitable Kenyan spirit. Asanteni sana!," Godec exclaimed.
