DP Ruto Sends Warning to Politicians Using His Name in 2022 Politics

Deputy President William Ruto, on Thursday, issued a warning to all those intending to use his name in their 2022 campaigns.

The DP asked all politicians to leave his name out since he is working with President Uhuru Kenyatta in realising the Big 4 Agenda.

Ruto, through his Secretary of Communications David Mugonyi, further explained that he had never consented to any premature political canvasing advising the individuals to use their time productively.

At no time has the Deputy President approved, canvassed or engaged in any other form of preparation for a presidential or another campaign after the last presidential election.

He has never approved, consented to or supported haphazard, sketchy, messy, premature political canvassing,” stated Mugonyi.

Mugonyi, however, defended the DP as a Democrat who believes that politicking and campaigning should be carried out at the right time.

"The Deputy President, therefore, asks those running noisy charades and mock-campaigns to use their energy more productively while those funding the same to find a better use for their resources," he continued.

The latest call by Ruto echoes similar sentiments by Uhuru against premature 2022 elections to give time for the government to deliver on their manifesto.

Kenyans.co.ke earlier reported that former Jubilee Party Vice Chairman David Murathe had escalated his onslaught against the DP.

Murathe has previously attacked Ruto’s 2022 presidential ambitions threatening that he would even move to the Supreme Court to bar the DP from ascending to the Presidency.
