On Saturday, Kileleshwa Police Station hosted a mega party for its officers and members of the public.
The party was reportedly organized in a bid to promote community policing and enhance the collaboration between the public and police.
According to pictures seen by Kenyans.co.ke, there was a buffet, a cake, alcoholic drinks, and entertainment for all the attendees.
Prior to the party, there were invitation posters circulating on social media indicating that the party was to begin at 4pm.
However, many Kenyans wondered whether the public would show up, considering the venue of the party was a police station.
Some social media users even claimed that the whole event was a set up by the police to arrest drunkards after the party.
Others made fun of it noting that once you set foot in the police station, the next time to leave would be on Monday, possibly headed to court for some drunk and disorderly charges.
Nonetheless, there were those who were in support of the initiative indicating that the police were just human beings who also wanted to interact and have a good time.
Others noted that the police were part of the society since they are brothers, fathers, sisters, children and mothers to a huge part of the public.
More so, some social media users commented that the party was a great initiative and that it should be emulated across other police stations in the country, to help improve the relationship between the police and members of the public.
