Uhuru Comments on Kenya Having 1st Female President

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday stated he was looking forward to the day there will be a female president in Kenya.

Speaking during the World Thinking Day at State House, the President encouraged young girls to be the future leaders.

“I pray to God and look forward to the day I shall be sitting and listening to the first female president addressing the people,” he stated.

On social media, Kenyans commented about the president’s message with most having a diverse opinion.

“When our beloved president starts adjusting and fumbling (before, today and in future) with the microphone stand, always be prepared to hear some hyperbole,” wrote Jumba Joe.

“He does not mean it, otherwise he could have stepped down for Nazlin the other time,” Eric Magesho wrote.

Addressing members of the Kenya Girl Guides Authority (KGGA), the president wished the young girls success so as to ensure they take their rightful place in Kenya.

First Lady Margret Kenyatta, on her part, stated they had seen women display an extraordinary culture of service to their immediate Society.

Ms. Kenyatta also applauded the KGGA for standing and holding firm its virtues of dignity, integrity, service, leadership and patriotism over years of existence.

World thinking day is celebrated annually on February 22 by the girl guides and girl scouts.
