Deported lawyer Miguna Miguna came under attack on Friday after mocking Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho.
The self-proclaimed revolutionary had left a 'distasteful' comment on a poster announcing Joho's interview on Citizen TV.
In his tweet, Miguna laughed off the second-term governor, adding that he had failed in his role.
"Hahahaha! Hilarious! From "The Community Husband to D-Minus Governor", the story of two Kenyan stooges," he wrote.
Miguna's sentiments angered many netizens who asked him to explain why he was looking down on Joho. Others wondered how his high academic qualifications have benefited him.
Sam Kiptoo wrote, "Hahaha! Serving his second term, your Ph.D. was really helpful in winning the 2017 Nairobi gubernatorial seat, wasn't it?"
Fredrick Otieno wrote, "You have become too petty indeed, please learn to respect people even when you differ in ideologies."
Rashid Mark posted, "Whether you like or not you will have to partner with those D people to progress, you will have to convince many to vote you."
However, Miguna explained that he does not despise Joho since the latter refers to himself as "a D-Minus material."
