Kalonzo's Son Who Wanted to Become a DJ

Kennedy Musyoka Kalonzo did not want anything to do with politics, he wanted to be a deejay or an ambassador.

In a report by Daily Nation, the son of former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka indicates that he had even saved up and bought a set of Pioneer CDJ-800 decks for the job.

“A lot of friends I knew back in my high school and college years ventured into music. One friend borrowed my equipment and spoiled it," he stated.

"I was so heartbroken that I never went back to music”, he added.

However, when he went to study abroad, his stand on Kenyan politics changed, realising that it was the manner in which politics at the time was practised that made him dislike it.

“Before I went to study abroad, I hated Kenyan politics because I thought it was too personality-based," he narrated.

The 32-year-old changed his view of politics, becoming one of the youngest members representing Kenya in East Africa Legislative Assembly (EALA).

Although many believe his father got him the EALA job, Kennedy noted those linking him to his father were 'haters'.

"I am my own man," he stated.

Kennedy narrates that life wasn't always easy when they were growing up as his father was not always present.

The firstborn of three children stated he would always be told that his father was building the nation.

“I only came to understand what that meant much later,” he added.
